Review: 3 Valentine's Day Looks from Blush Lingerie & a Giveaway

By 2:17 PM

To conclude my Valentine's Day series, I'd like to show you three different sets from Blush Lingerie. Although this is my first time trying any of Blush's offerings, the company has been around for nearly three decades, founded in the beautiful city of Montreal. The lingerie is flirty, youthful and high quality. Blush contacted me last week offering to send me some products to review and I was thrilled at the opportunity to try something new.

Since Blush carries bras in sizes 32-38 A-DD, unfortunately I wasn't able to try any of them, so I will focus on other lingerie offerings for a change of pace.

Deception

The first thing that caught my eye on Blush Lingerie's website was the Deception range. Although I don't usually go for loud colors, the Deception kimono in Spanish Red really stood out to me with its sheer floral lace, wide sleeves and satin sash. I chose the Deception garter belt and hipster to complement the kimono and together, this set makes me feel like a million bucks.

The fabrics used in the set are so gorgeous and rich. The satin straps on the panties match the fabric of garter belt and feel comfortable and sturdy on my body. I'm also a huge fan of the bow accents on front panel of the panties since I'm a sucker for everything girly.

The kimono comes in S/M and M/L and is very short, which is great for me. Most robes are much too long for me but this one hits a few inches above the knee and creates a longer leg line. However, if you are tall, you can expect minimal coverage from this kimono. The matching panties in XS are slightly snug on me, even though according to Blush's size chart an XS should accommodate 34-35 inch hips and mine are 33.5". Due to the style of the panties, nothing cuts in anywhere and they are very flattering but I would recommend sizing up if you prefer a looser fit in your underwear. The garter belt in S fit well all around and has 3 rows of hooks and eyes for adjustment. If I wanted to wear it higher, an XS would have also worked for a snugger fit.

I won't lie - I definitely pranced around in this set and twirled in front of the mirror. I think this set has inspired me to start looking for brighter colors in my lingerie. If red isn't your color, the Deception line also comes in black.

Soft Seduction

The Soft Seduction range is fantastic for lounging in style. I received the robe and hipster in Merlot and fell in love with the look and feel of the fabric immediately. The main body fabric is made mostly of modal and is so, so comfortable. The equally soft polyamide lace that adorns the sleeves of the robe and front of the panties transforms the items from just comfortable to dainty lounge pieces. It's almost 5pm and I'm still sitting on the couch wearing this robe as I write...

In S/M, the robe is long on my frame but for a lounging item, I would say this is actually preferred. Longer means more of this lovely fabric against my skin, right? The hipster in XS runs on the smaller side, similar to the panties from the Deception line, so I would also recommend sizing up in this range.

The Soft Seduction range comes in a variety of colors but the Merlot is my favorite!

Allure Noir

Lastly, I tried the Allure Noir robe and teddy. The sheer mesh, lace embroidery, and soft satin are pretty much the definition of sexy.

Unfortunately, the teddy arrived in a size that was much too large and didn't come close to fitting me, so I can only comment on the appearance and quality and show a photo of how the piece looks on Blush's website with the matching robe.

The teddy has a unique construction. It has a non-stretchy satin bottom that matches the fabric of the robe and a mesh body with a light beige underlay. The underlay matched my fair skin really well and almost disappeared, only providing reinforcement and no visual clutter. The diamond pattern on the mesh adds another layer of interest without making the piece look too busy.

Because the teddy didn't fit me, I decided to pair the Allure Noir robe with some items I already owned to create a vintage glamour look. Here I am wearing the robe with my trusty Freya Deco plunge, Maison Close seamed stockings, and Dollhouse Bettie garter belt. This robe is just what the outfit needed to tie it together (no pun intended. Although the Allure Noir robe is made of polyester rather than silk, the fabric has a nice weight to it and it feels like a high quality item.

I'm so pleased with this generous selection of Valentine's Day goodies from Blush Lingerie. Everything makes me feel beautiful and flirty. Whether you're looking to dress to impress or for a nice piece of loungewear, Blush is a great choice.

And now for the best part - one lucky winner will receive the Allure Noir teddy in size M! Follow me on Twitter  and comment on this post telling me how you'll wear your teddy and I will select a winner on Valentine's Day.

  2. I love the lingerie as outerwear look so I'd pair it with my black pencil skirt and a blazer, then dress it up with some killer heels!

  6. Woop woop! I'd definitely wear this teddy for one of my amateur dance performances in that favourite gay bar.

    (But I don't have a twitter account... is that a deal-breaker?)

  7. My SO is long distance, so I'll be happily skyping him in the teddy, drinking a peach bellini, and showing off the little video game I created: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33320448/preview/Special/vday.html

  8. That teddy is honestly gorgeous enough to be worn with a skirt and a leather jacket. Or maybe just as some beautiful loungewear.
